Project description

The project “Future Diplomats of Ukraine: U.S. Public Diplomacy Academy” is aimed at developing key skills in public diplomacy, advocacy, crisis communications, and public administration among young Ukrainian leaders.

The program is designed for students and young professionals who aspire to actively engage in international processes, policy-making, and global diplomacy.

Goal and objectives

  • Develop practical skills in public diplomacy and international communications.
  • Facilitate the preparation of a new generation of Ukrainian diplomats.
  • Foster a culture of public diplomacy oriented towards transparency, efficiency, and cooperation with international partners.
  • Increase the level of involvement of Ukrainian youth in public administration processes and global politics.

Program format

  • Duration: 6 months.
  • Learning format: interactive lectures, practical modules, workshops, and simulations.
  • Module topics:
    • Public Diplomacy and International Relations
    • Advocacy and Work with Public Initiatives
    • Crisis Communications
    • Public Administration Reforms
  • Key outcomes: creation of personal public diplomacy strategies and their presentation to experts.

Partners and support

The project is implemented by the Professional Government Association of Ukraine with the support of the U.S. Department of State and the Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv.

Target Audience

  • Upper-level students of international relations, political science, law, journalism.
  • Young professionals with experience in the public sector, civil society organizations, or think tanks.
  • Activists who seek to influence Ukraine’s image in the world.

  • Preparing a new generation of public diplomacy professionals.
